It’s no accident that I love travel and my business has first class in the title. Despite never actually travelling in this secret arena occupying the front of a carriage with wings…

A SUCCESSFUL PITCH…

I grew up as a reasonably confident kid. At 10 years old I stood on my primary school talent show stage impersonating my early idol, Cilla Black, hosting our version of Blind Date.

This was a concept I pitched to my teacher at the time as the best way to showcase mine, and my classmates, talents.

As I ventured into the world of radio, dipping into broadcast journalism and some TV work, this confident kid kept hearing a repetitive statement:

I can’t do that. I don’t have the confidence nor the ability to actually make people want to listen to me.

MISSED OPPORTUNITIES

I witnessed so many missed opportunities in others. But what really connected was when I started running a startup programme for budding entrepreneurs. Incredible ideas, high potential businesses, that struggled to progress.

And it was down to one key area: their pitch.
